Dianne

Hi! My name is Dianne and this my little corner of the internet. I’m a former civil engineer currently enjoying food blogging and photography. I was diagnosed with IBS more than 20 years ago and my husband has fructose malabsorption and lactose intolerance. We both eat a modified low-FODMAP diet, meaning that we have found what foods we are intolerant to and try to avoid them (most of the time!) to feel our best. I love creating recipes that people with sensitive stomachs can enjoy. Whether you are on the elimination-reintroduction phase or already know your specific sensitivities, I hope you can find recipes that you and your whole family can enjoy.

I am not a dietitian or nutritionist, so I don’t offer any advice or counseling, but I hope my recipes can support the plan that you and your health care provider have put into place. I believe that the ultimate goal is to have as varied and unrestricted diet as possible. On this same note, I also believe in intuitive eating and health at every size. I think that dieting and the pursuit of weight loss has had a detrimental effect on our culture and overall health. In fact, low calorie diets may in fact be why I have suffered with IBS. I have also experienced disordered eating and am working on healing my relationship with food. My recipes are not for weight loss or management. Thus, I have decided to not provide calorie counts since counting calories is a construct of the diet industry.

I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with my husband and our two cats Piper and Finola. My husband and I are both homebodies and we love relaxing at home and taking it easy. I am a true introvert and find much comfort in quiet and solitude. I enjoy reading books, baking, and practicing yoga in my free time.
