Well, we are about half-way between Valentine’s Day and Easter, so it seems like a good time to share a chocolate recipe. You don’t mind, do you? Didn’t think so. This candy is not necessarily low-FODMAP. Nor is it natural or good for you, but not everything can be.


What this candy is, is very delicious and very easy to make. If you like chocolate and peanuts, then this candy is for you. If you are looking for a recipe to take to a pot luck, bake sale, or just to take in to work as a treat, then this candy is for you. It makes a ton! What else can I say, this candy is just fun. How to Make Crock Pot Candy:

  1. Place ingredients in slow cooker

    Start out with a crockpot. Put the peanuts in the bottom. Top with the chocolate chips, white almond bark and German chocolate. I forgot to buy German chocolate, so I threw in some Hershey kisses instead. Work with what you got!making crockpot candy in the slow cooker

  2. Cook on low

    Next turn on the crock pot to low and let the chocolate melt. This takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. It will look like this when it’s done. Don’t worry, it just needs a good stir.making crockpot candy

  3. Give it a good stir

    Once you stir it, it will look like this. Starting to look better, isn’t it? In fact, I dare you to not take a spoonful to sample it!making crock pot candy

  4. Drop onto wax paper

    Now, line cookie sheets with waxed paper and drop the mixture by the spoonful onto the waxed paper. I used a cookie scoop for this and it made it unimaginably easy.   5. Let cool

    Let the candy cool until the chocolate hardens. You can either do this on your kitchen counter or in the fridge, if you are in a hurry. And who isn’t in a hurry to get this scrumptious candy done?Crock-Pot Peanut Cluster Candy

I took this Crock-Pot Peanut Cluster Candy into work and my co-workers loved it. It’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet, which makes it incredibly addicting. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. container container dry roasted, salted peanuts
  • 1 16 oz. container dry roasted, unsalted peanuts
  • 1 12 oz. bag bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz. German chocolate (or any other chocolate you have hanging around)
  • 32 oz. white almond bark

Instructions

  • Pour peanuts into the bottom of a crock pot. Put chocolate chips, German chocolate and almond bark on top.
  • Cook on low, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until chocolate is melted. Stir well.
  • Drop by the tablespoon onto waxed-paper-lined cookie sheets.
  • Let cool at room temperature or in the fridge until chocolate has hardened. Enjoy!

    I’m wondering if there is another way to make this candy besides using a crock pot? Mine gets too hot, even on “warm” and burns the chocolate. Any ideas, anyone out there?

    I make these every year for my family. They can’t wait for them. I wonder if they can be frozen? I had to delay our Christmas so wanted to freeze then.
