Pinning Instead of Clipping (Plus Slow Cooker Spaghetti Bolognese)

I don’t know why I put off joining Pinterest for so long. I guess I didn’t want to get addicted to yet another thing on the internet. Well, my instincts were right, I probably shouldn’t have signed up, because it is so addicting. And fun! But I think it will be a very useful tool. Now when I see a recipe in a magazine that I want to try, instead of clipping it, I find the recipe on the internet and then “pin” it. It’s great to do things electronically. There is less paper floating around that you have to deal with. You can see what I’m pinning at http://pinterest.com/deliciouslooks/.

As an example, I found a recipe for Slow-Cooker Spaghetti Bolognese in Real Simple magazine. I found it on the Real Simple website and then pinned it. It makes it super-easy to find. Speaking of super-easy, this recipe was just that. I love using my slow cooker. Just chop up some veggies, dump it all in the slow cooker and go spend your day doing something other than cooking. I really need days like that sometimes. The sauce was delicious, although the beef was in tiny pieces instead of clumps like I prefer. I served it over gluten-free quinoa spaghetti by Ancient Harvest. A salad and bottle of red wine rounded out the meal wonderfully.
