Low-FODMAP Cosmopolitan Cocktail

Low-FODMAP Cosmopolitan Cocktail

Low-FODMAP Cosmopolitan Cocktail / Delicious as it Looks

Right now, my favorite cocktail is a dry martini (Bombay Sapphire), straight-up with a twist. It’s been my favorite for quite a while now and I don’t see it changing in the future. But I do love a good cosmopolitan every once in a while.

Vodka has been tested my Monash as being low-FODMAP. However, it should be noted that alcohol is a gut irritant. So even though it’s low in FODMAPs, it still might upset the belly. See my note below the recipe for how to make a non-alcohol version of this classic cocktail.

That being said, I hope you are able to enjoy this fruity and refreshing cocktail. It’s perfect for summer!

  • 0.5 oz. fresh squeezed orange juice
  • dash orange bitters (optional)
  • ice
  • lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the cranberry juice, vodka, sweetened lime juice, orange juice and orange bitters with ice cubes. Shake well.
  • Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes

Please note that although vodka is low-FODMAP, alcohol can be a gut irritant. To make a non-alcohol version of this cocktail, omit the vodka and add a splash of sparkling water instead (after shaking and pouring into the glass).
